THE SHORT ANSWER

What is a brain training program?

A brain training program is a structured schedule of short cognitive exercises, done several times a week over a set number of weeks, that gets harder as you improve. Each session targets specific skills, such as memory, attention, speed or reasoning.

ScheduledShort sessions on fixed days, so practice becomes a habit.

10–20min a day
5 mintoo short10–20ideal45 mintiring
How long should I train each day?Short, regular sessions work best: 10 to 20 minutes, five days a week. Past about 20 minutes, attention drops and mistakes rise, so a longer session adds tiredness rather than practice.
5 + 2train + rest
MTWTFSS
Do I need rest days?Yes. Two lighter days a week keep motivation up, and sleep helps consolidate what you practised.
2–8weeks per plan
Weeks 1–2: levels riseThen steadier
How long until I notice progress? Most people see their game levels rise within the first week or two, as they learn each game. After that progress is slower but steadier, which is why plans run 2 to 8 weeks.
