Lex Fridman's IQ

A machine-learning researcher in a black suit and tie who turned an MIT lecture series into one of the world's biggest interview podcasts. He's asked hundreds of brilliant guests about intelligence; nobody has published his.

LEX: What do you think intelligence is?
RECORD: No IQ test on file

Lex Fridman has no documented IQ score, and no reliable figure circulates. His record is a PhD, a stack of papers on human–machine interaction, and thousands of hours of recorded conversation.

USSR → United States · 1983–2001

A physicist's son, a judo mat, a new country

Born 15 August 1983 in the Soviet Union and raised largely in Moscow. His father, Alexander Fridman, is a plasma physicist who later became a professor at Drexel University. The family emigrated to the United States when Lex was a boy, settling first in the Chicago area.

Judo, which he'd started in Russia, travelled with him. So did a love of Russian literature. He later took up Brazilian jiu-jitsu, in which he holds a black belt.

Your typing is a fingerprint

His PhD was on “active authentication”: recognising a computer's user continuously from behaviour, like the rhythm of their typing. Type the phrase twice below. We compare the gaps between your keystrokes. It all runs in your browser and nothing is stored, a toy version of the idea.

PHRASE: “love is the answer”
ENROLVERIFYBAR = GAP BETWEEN KEYS
-

Type the phrase exactly in both boxes.
