IQs and factor scores have a mean of 100 and SD of 15, with a possible range of 40 to 160. Subtest scaled scores have a mean of 10 and SD of 3.6
A century of Binets
Each edition changed how scores were calculated.4,8
One source lists a 2016 "sixth edition", but another says a sixth edition is still to come, and the SB5 is described as the only edition in clinical use. It isn't included above.8,9,4

Related historical tests
The Woodcock-Johnson is the most explicitly CHC-based battery. The SB5 redesigned its own factors around the same framework in 2003.
The adult Wechsler was moving from IQ splits to factor indexes. The SB5 kept Verbal and Nonverbal IQs but added five factor indexes.
A test that is nonverbal throughout. The SB5 offers a full nonverbal half alongside its verbal half.
The DAS also splits verbal from nonverbal reasoning. The SB5 goes further, pairing every factor in both forms.
Another 2003 test covering a similarly wide age range. The RIAS aims to estimate g in 25–35 minutes; the SB5 profiles ten subtests.
