Three sets of norms
Sources differ on the normative update: one ties it to 2023 US census data, another dates the re-norming to 2026. The RIAS-2's upper age is also given as both 94 and 93:11.3,6,4

Related historical tests
Another brief individual IQ test with a wide age range. Slosson's was verbal only; the RIAS balances two verbal and two nonverbal subtests.
The WAIS takes far longer and yields many scores. The RIAS aims to estimate g in a fraction of the time.
The children's Wechsler was the standard long battery. The RIAS offered one short test covering ages 3 to 94.
The DAS builds its main score only from subtests that best measure reasoning. The RIAS likewise treats its four intelligence subtests as measures of g.
The RIAS adds co-normed verbal and nonverbal memory subtests. The CVLT examines verbal memory in far more depth.
